TigerVPN Review 2024: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?

TigerVPN knows how to brand itself with its fun colors, tiger mascot, and roaring puns. I was eager to see if this Slovakia-based VPN offered anything past fun branding. So I put it through thorough testing to see if it offered a full-VPN package.
Unfortunately, TigerVPN doesn’t work anymore as I couldn’t even sign up for the service. Upon landing on the website, I navigated to the pricing page and tried to sign up for a plan. After entering my payment details, it returned an HTML error page and didn’t allow me to proceed.
I tried to reach out to TigerVPN support. However, the link to the support page is broken. It appears that TigerVPN, founded in 2011, has had its run. But there’s still no official statement from the company. So, if you urgently need a VPN that provides a full and functional service, you can check this list of top-grade VPNs on the market.

I Couldn’t Access Any Streaming Platforms Using TigerVPN
Since I couldn’t sign up for the TigerVPN service, I could not try it with any streaming platform. Usually, I test VPNs to see if it unblocks popular streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video. I also look out for VPNs that offer reliable HD-streaming capabilities.
If you’re trying to catch up with your favorite shows on any of these platforms, I recommend trying another VPN that works and allows you to stream lag-free. TigerVPN Promises Fast Internet Speeds, but the Service Doesn’t Work
I couldn’t test TigerVPN’s speed since it doesn’t work. Although the VPN claims that its service significantly improves internet speeds for streaming, gaming, and other online services, there was no way for me to test the VPN. I tried to sign up for the service but encountered errors no matter how many times I tried.
Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds
Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.

Server Network — Advertises 300+ Servers in 60+ Locations
TigerVPN claims to offer 300 servers in 42 countries, but these are no longer available. Although this is a decently-sized server network, it was disappointing that I couldn’t test any of the servers.
Moreover, there wasn’t any mention of any specialized servers for P2P or streaming. Nor was there a server list with information like latency, server load, and capacity
Security — Multiple Security Protocols
TigerVPN advertises only 2 security protocols. If the service were functional, you would be able to choose between OpenVPN and L2TP with options between UDP and TCP protocols when using OpenVPN. The VPN also claims to offer AES 256-bit encryption that’s impossible to hack. It further states that it supports “NAT firewall,” which is a way of shielding your IP from the rest of the users on the server network. All these features would have made TigerVPN a good deal if only the service were functional.
Privacy — Keeps User Logs
Although TigerVPN doesn’t work anymore, it kept logs when it was functional. The VPN kept a log of users’ email addresses, passwords, payment data, geolocations, time stamps, and logs of connection sessions. This data collection would have made TigerVPN unsuitable for privacy-minded VPN users. In contrast, top-rated VPNs like ExpressVPN don’t keep logs. More so, ExpressVPN has several independent audits that verify its no-logs policy.
Torrenting — No P2P Support
It is unlikely that TigerVPN supported P2P activities. A run through its website reveals no mention of P2P or torrenting. I reached out to customer support to get general feedback about the service. There was no response from the support, so I was unable to confirm if this VPN supported P2P connections. However, given the nature of the privacy policy, I wouldn’t recommend torrenting on this VPN even if it did work properly.
Does TigerVPN Work in China? No!
TigerVPN doesn’t work in China or anywhere. Signing up for the service is impossible, and I couldn’t even sign in on any of the apps. You should consider another VPN if you’re traveling to China.
Keep in mind that using a non-government-approved VPN is illegal in China. However, there have been no cases of tourists being penalized by the Chinese government. The common practice is that China is fighting VPNs by technologically blocking them and not by chasing after tourists who use them.

After downloading the TigerVPN app, I couldn’t sign up or log in on any device. The VPN advertises only 2 simultaneous device connections. This would have made the VPN restrictive even if it worked. Unlike TigerVPN, IPVanish allows you to connect unlimited devices on all popular operating systems.
TigerVPN has apps for Windows, Mac, and Android. However, I was disappointed that I couldn’t sign up and log in to any of the apps. Most top-grade and have manual configurations for OpenVPN or other supported protocols. TigerVPN doesn’t have that option. Moreover, it also lacks support for Linux or smart TVs.

You can only reach out to TigerVPN via email. The link to the support page on its website is broken, so there’s no way to access the FAQs or any other support channel. That said, I reached out to the support via email and never got a response.
I was disappointed that I couldn’t get TigerVPN’s support to explain why the VPN no longer works. I wanted to find out if the VPN was working on restoring the service. To my dismay, I didn’t get any response from the support.

We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.

I couldn’t pay for any TigerVPN subscription since registration is impossible. The VPN advertises just 1 plan — The Zen Tiger Plan. However, the app shows that you can sign up for a free trial, which also doesn’t work. The website lists payment options via credit cards, Bitcoin, Paymentwall, and PayPal. However, when I tried to sign up for the plans using my credit card or PayPal, it returned an error page. So, I wouldn’t advise paying for the service since it simply doesn’t work.
Support doesn’t work either, so I couldn’t get help with the registration after sending multiple emails for assistance. Keep in mind that the prices listed here are TigerVPN’s advertised plans, and you can’t subscribe to any of them.

Final Verdict
It was disappointing to learn that TigerVPN doesn’t work anymore. Despite multiple attempts to sign up for TigerVPN, the registration process wouldn’t let me. Each time I tried to sign up for the service, I got an error message that stopped me from registering. Since TigerVPN doesn’t work, I suggest you try another VPN.

Can I use TigerVPN for free?
No. Although TigerVPN has a free trial option on the app, it isn’t functional. I tried to sign up for the free trial and the premium plan but got an error message for every attempt. There are better options if you’re looking for a free VPN service.
I don’t usually recommend free VPNs due to the lack of features, security risks, and privacy concerns. However, if you are looking to try a VPN but don’t want to spend any money yet, these are a few reliable free VPN options that you can test out.
Is TigerVPN safe?
No. Although TigerVPN advertises military-grade encryption, you can’t even sign up to use the VPN. I tried registering for the service but got an error page each time I tried.
Moreover, TigerVPN states in its privacy policy that it keeps user logs. So, even if it worked, I wouldn’t recommend it as safe for privacy.
