If you’re in a hurry, here’s the bottom line — You can get more servers globally, better VPN features, and 24/7 customer support with Surfshark for the same price or less. So why bother reading on?!
Relakks VPN takes its name rather too seriously resulting in a slackening, boring, and a naive VPN service. The Swedish provider has been in business since 2006 and still uses outdated technology to provide security and anonymity online, even though it claims to bring leading anonymizing VPN services in Europe.
To begin with, the website is very basic and doesn’t give out noteworthy information about Relakks VPN features nor does it have a privacy policy section which raises concerns. However, Sweden is known for its privacy-friendly laws and stand against internet surveillance and monitoring.
As for security, it couldn’t be more flimsy. Relakks VPN relies on 128-bit encryption and supports PPTP tunneling protocol only. Although it’s very fast, PPTP is old, trackable and crackable by ISPs. It’s completely unreliable in terms of security and privacy.
To make it even worse, Relakks VPN doesn’t disclose how many servers they have, but they’re located in Sweden. It’s doubtful whether you can use Relakks VPN to unblock geo-restricted websites outside Sweden. Also, we haven’t spotted any interesting features offered by the company except for their flexible P2P policy and HD streaming.
Customer support is also very “relakksed.” You can only contact the support team through an email, and you’d be as happy as a clam if you receive a response.

A small and limited provider such as Relakks is hardly relaxing when it comes to installation and configuration on the very few operating systems it runs on making it less appealing even more unless you don’t have a problem with basic VPNs with manual configurations for PPTP.
If you navigate through the setup guides, you can download PDF tutorials to successfully configure Relakks VPN on the operating system of your choice. The process is lengthy, but if you follow the steps exactly as given, you shouldn’t have a problem with it.
