vpn.fish Review 2026: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?
vpn.fish Overview
“2026 UPDATE! Unfortunately vpn.fish is no longer available. Why not check out our list of the best VPNs in 2026 or find out more about our top recommendation, ExpressVPN.”
Editor's Note: Transparency is one of our core values at WizCase, so you should know we are in the same ownership group as ExpressVPN. That said, our detailed reviews follow a strict methodology that examines all relevant performance factors to help you arrive at your own informed conclusion.
With low- to mid-level pricing, this VPN (unfortunately) does not even provide middling service or performance. Users have complained that IP masking is hit-or-miss and that they often receive targeted local ads in emails and social media even when abroad for months. We didn’t run into this issue but did run into an issue with the kill switch not kicking in immediately when service was lost.
We like to look for VPNs that can work across most or all of our devices, and vpn.fish fails here too because it only works on iOS devices; so no Android, no Windows, and no PC or laptop support at all. This service is no good for you unless you only own an iPhone and/or iPad.
While true that its encryption levels rival the bigger VPN players, they are limited to just nine countries and a mere dozen servers. Couple that with the fact that, while they superficially claim a no-logging policy, they have no written privacy policy that can be read by users. It’s hard for us to believe what isn’t published in print.
Being based out of Hong Kong is another potential problem. Although not properly part of China, the reach of the Chinese government (and all their spy technology) still encroaches into Hong Kong, making it a less-than-comforting home base for a VPN service.
Speed
- 0.0 / 10Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds
Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.
Servers
- 0.0 / 10Vpn.fish has 13 servers in 9 counties with 13 IP addresses.

User Experience
- 7.2 / 10The interface is decent enough, is easy to set up and navigate, and has some native configurations available for customization. We appreciated the 7-day free trial, which was enough to test their features and servers (since they have so few of either). And the 30-day money-back guarantee is another perk that not all VPNs offer.
There is no live chat, which we didn’t like because their website is lacking in helpful FAQs that might otherwise help us troubleshoot ourselves. You can expect an average response time of 12-48 hours when emailing the vendor, which isn’t terrible for a newbie company but is still not quick enough to impress us.
Since they claim you can use one license for up to six (iOS) devices, we had no trouble testing three devices simultaneously on one license. We were able to unblock geo-restrictions for US-only Netflix content, but not for Hulu. YouTube is supported, as well as Kodi.
All in all, while this VPN performs well for one from such a small and new company, there are too many platform, privacy and customer support issues to justify using the VPN beyond the free trial period.
Support
- 7.3 / 10How We Test Customer Support and Why Should You Care
We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.
