SecureVPN.to Review 2025: Before You Buy, Is It Worth It?

SecureVPN.to Overview

“2025 UPDATE! Unfortunately SecureVPN.to is no longer available. Why not check out our list of the best VPNs in 2025 or find out more about our top recommendation, ExpressVPN.”

Editor's Note: Transparency is one of our core values at WizCase, so you should know we are in the same ownership group as ExpressVPN. However, this does not affect our review process, as we adhere to a strict testing methodology.

If you’re in a hurry, here’s the bottom line — You can get more servers globally, better VPN features, and 24/7 customer support with Surfshark for the same price or less. So why bother reading on?!

When we talk about complete online anonymity, it doesn’t get more private than SecureVPN.to. However, when a VPN gets too private that it refuses to disclose its location stating that it is owned by a group of activists from around the world and that each server is under the jurisdiction of the country it’s located in. It’s been operating in this manner since 2014. Some users might worry from hiding a fact like this as they wouldn’t know whether or not the company is bounded by data retention laws but SecureVPN.to state clearly in its privacy policy that it doesn’t keep logs or browsing history. I guess we would just need to take a leap of faith and take its word for it.
Moving on to the online security section, SecureVPN.to secures its network with a military grade AES 256-bit CBC encryption and supports OpenVPN with UDP/TCP as its main security protocol. Other security features include an internet kill switch, DNS leak protection, IPv6 leak protection, WebRTC leak protection, and several other capabilities and features.
All this seems pretty impressive but we still had a few questions about the service so we contacted customer support through the contact form, which is the only channel of communication available. The response came fast, almost instantly, but sadly the answers were useless not mentioning the unprofessional attitude of the support agent. This is one of SecureVPN.to’s biggest flaws, Other than that, the service, overall, is not that bad and worth a try.

Why Most Speed Tests are Pointless & How We Correctly Test VPN Speeds

Speed determines how fast content uploads, so if you're torrenting or streaming, you want the speed to be somewhat identical to your regular internet speed. Since a VPN encrypts your data, it usually takes a bit longer to send your data back and forth, which can slow down your connection. However, if your ISP deliberately slows down your connection (also known as throttling) a VPN might increase your internet speed. Testing a VPN is somewhat pointless because new servers pop up and affect speed. Your speed can also differ according to your location, so your speed test might not match ours. Having said that, we tested the speed in numerous locations to provide you with the average.

User Experience

- 8.4 / 10

Starting from the registration for an account, SecureVPN.to has one of the easiest registration processes compared to many other VPN providers. All you need to do is enter a username and password of your choice and you’re all set. You don’t even need to give out your email address. Even when it comes to payments, the provider only accepts anonymous methods such as Bitcoin so no detailed financial information is required.

Whether you want to install the client software on your device or setup a VPN connection manually, both are as easy as the registration process and are not time consuming at all. The SecureVPN.to website has a section filled with detailed tutorials on how to download and install the client or setup a manual connection. The interface of the client is also pretty basic and as easy to navigate through as any basic program on your device with no extreme tech knowledge required.

How We Test Customer Support and Why Should You Care

We personally test the customer support team of every VPN we review. This means asking technical question through the live chat feature (where applicable) and measuring the response time for email questions. Whether you need to connect to a specific server, change your security protocol, or configure a VPN on your router, finding a VPN with quality customer support should be important to you.
