The Romania-based ibVPN is an online privacy advocate that has been in the market since 2010. Starting with its website and client interface everything seems to have a handful of features and capabilities. Even the security measures taken are top notch. From multiple security protocols supported (OpenVPN, L2TP, PPTP, SSTP, and IPSec/IKEv2) to the most advanced 256-bit Blowfish algorithm encryption. To add more security to the connection, ibVPN has recently implemented double VPN and Tor over VPN. When it comes to security, it doesn’t get much better than this. Moving on to the privacy features, ibVPN keeps no logs and its clients come with a kill switch and an auto-reconnect feature. All these features make ibVPN look flawless but when it comes to performance, that’s a different story. When we tried it out, even though it secured the connection pretty well, it did slow down the connection speed greatly and we did experience several connection dropouts. This is a major downside especially that ibVPN supports P2P sharing/ torrents and supports access to the restricted major streaming services such as Netflix, which won’t come in handy with such a low connection speed. All in all, the service can gain a huge leap if it resolves these two issues as it shows massive potential to be a leading provider in the market.

Whether you’re using the mobile app or the computer app, ibVPN’s set up process is straightforward. Just sign up for an account on the website by providing your email address, setting up a password, and providing your payment details. If you want to stay even more anonymous, you can just simply choose one of the numerous cryptocurrency anonymous payment options. If you want to give it a try first, the free trial won’t require any payment details but that’s just temporary. Once you’re finished with that, just download the client, install it, and fire away. The interface of the client in all the platforms is pretty convenient and easy to navigate through, whether it’s choosing a server to connect to or configuring your settings (activating/deactivating kill switch, switching between security protocols, etc.).
