Hideway VPN protects user anonymity and offers online security. They don’t just encrypt all web traffic of their users but also assign uncensored DNS server names making it easier to access blocked content.
They offer a free plan that will help you try their services for 0.1GB of data. That’s not much, to say the least. You can hardly open a couple of web pages and test their speeds and ease of use. Once the trial is over, you’ll need to subscribe to their paid plans.
Their paid plans are also pretty limited. They don’t have monthly or yearly accounts with unlimited data download. You can subscribe to a certain amount of data and pay for it. The smallest plan is 10GB, and the biggest is 150GB data. If you’re a heavy user and consume over 100GB per month, this VPN is going to be very expensive for you.
They have an Anonymous order option that will ask you nothing but your email address. However, with this option, your payment methods will be limited.
Their privacy policy states that they don’t keep logs of any user-specific data, so it’s a pretty safe deal. However, it doesn’t offer feature-rich services like the top VPN providers.
They support OpenVPN, which is the strongest VPN protocol. If you’re looking for complete anonymity, make sure you connect using OpenVPN only. Hideway VPN can be installed on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Linux devices.
There are no apps, but you can use third-party open-source software or manual configuration to use this VPN. One major limitation of this VPN is that they have servers in just one country – Austria. This really limits your choices when you want to hide online.

Hideway VPN doesn’t offer inbuilt apps, which makes things a bit difficult. However, you can use third-party apps or manual configuration for installation.
For Windows, you can use the OpenVPN GUI. There are detailed instructions on the website to help you out. For your Mac computer, you can use Tunnelblick software and install OpenVPN.
For Linux and iOS, you can install the OpenVPN software and configure the software with the files provided by Hideway.
The installation process takes about 5-7 minutes. The speeds are not especially impressive, and there is no live chat option. You can contact the customer support through their email and phone. The support isn’t very active, and you might have to wait for a day or two to receive their reply.
